The senior living home I designed is a warm, inviting space tailored to individuals who seek a sense of community, with the option for assistance when needed. This space isn't solely for those requiring full-time care but for seniors who live in an environment that fosters connection, socialization, and comfort. The home offers 12 carefully designed apartments, each with thoughtful amenities promoting independent living while providing easy access to support services if necessary. There is an attached child daycare on the back of the building.
My concept for this senior living home is "Driftwood," which symbolizes the diverse journeys and experiences that each person carries with them. Just as driftwood comes in various shapes and sizes, the residents of this home come from different backgrounds and have lived through many different stages of life. My design aims to accommodate these varied experiences, creating an environment that embraces and celebrates diversity, making everyone feel at home. The goal was to design a place that provides physical comfort and fosters a sense of belonging, community, and a true home-like atmosphere.
